BURGLARIES.
AUIA POST OFFICE ROBBED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Te Kuiti, Last Night. The post office at Aria was burgled on Wednesday night and £33 9a stolen, £2l 4s of which belonged to the postmistress. Several registered letters were stolen anil endorsed cheques for .£l2O 8s An opossum rug and tv/o shawls were stolen from a Maori in a whure behind tjie post office. Two strangers were searched by Sergeant Matthew, but no trace of the money was found. Entrance ivas obtained by breaking the catch of the window, The money was in a cash box, but not in the safe. ROBBERY AT STRATFORD. A Stratford business man made up his cash yesterday and took it to the bank, but, finding tho bank closed, replaced it in his safe. Later in the day he found the money, which,, ran into over £IOO, missing. The police were informed, and are making inquiries.
