EXPORT OF HIDES. By Telegraph.—P.-ess Assn.—Copyright. Melbourne, Sept. 19. New regulations controlling the export of hides and leather have been issued. They permit local requirements to be met first. THE BAKERS' STRIKE. Received Sept. 19, 10.5 p.m. Sydney, Sept. 19. A mass meeting of bakers failed to arrive at a settlement. Plenty of bread Is available. PEACE TREATY RATIFIED. Melbourne, Sept. 20. The House of Representatives, without a division, ratified the peace treaty. Mr Catt's amendment was rejected. The House also approvel the treaty between Britain, America, and France. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. LOSS OF THE PAREORA. Adelaide, Sept. 20. Later details of the Pareora wreck show that the vessel struck a rock, one of the largest of the Althorpe Islands. Seven of the crew were saved, and twelve are missing. It is believed they were drowned.
