TROOPS EXPECTED.
4454 ON THE WATER. Six transports are due to arrive this month and one in October, with a total of 4454 troops end 117 passengers nominated by the naval authorities or War Office on board. Six of the vessels will make Wellington the first port of call in the Dominion, and the seventh is bound for Lyttelton. The names of the vessels, their approximate date of arrival, and the number of troops on board are as follows: Cordoba, due at Wellington September 20 with Returning Draft No. 278, comprising 654 men of all ranks. Hororata. due at Wellington on Sep. tcmber 20 with Returning Draft No. 280, comprising 1884 men of all ranks and 21 nominated passengers. Ayrshire, due at Lyttelton on September 20 with Returning Drift No. 281, comprising 671 men of nil ranks. Tainui, due at Wellington on September 19 with Returning Draft No. 253, comprising 380 men of all ranks and 14 nominated passengers. Corinthie, due at Wellington on September 22 with Returning Drift No. 254, | comprising 362 men of all ranks and 33 nominated passengers. Adolph Woermann, due at Wellington on September 28 with Returning Draft No. 286, comprising 661 men of all ranks and 14 nominated passengers, lonic, due at Wellington ()n October 23 with 350 men of all ranks and 32 nominated passengers. The approximate date of arrival of the troopships is subject to alteration when the vessels establish wireless communication with New Zealand.
