FIRES.

HOUSE DESTROYED AT OPUNAKE. About 8 o'clock on Wednesday evening a small four-roomed cottage at Opunake, near the Opunake factory, owned by Mr. H. Mann, and occupied by a family named Pitzsimmons, was totally destroyed 'by Are. The tenants were absent at the time and are heavy losers, as owing to the strong wind blowing it was found impossible to save anything.
