Writing in the Vorwaerts, a Socialist bh o recently returned from the Baltic provinces says the German military movement Is rapidly growing there, and taan> officers and men are arriving daily jfrom Germany. German trbops are Strongly in evidence over the whole of Courland, where posters are exhibited declaring they are fighting for the Kaißer and the empire against democracy. These counter-revolutionaries, in order to conceal their intentions, pretend to BUlumd a fefr regiments, which are really transferred to the Russian antl-Bolshev--Ist arlnyi German troops in Conrland the population.—ißeuter. j ' 1 FINNISH RED ARMY. Helsingfon, Sept. 15. When Finland drove out the Bolsheviks in 1918 a Red Finnish Legion escaped northwards and joined the British in Murmansk. Afterwards thp British agreed to send hack the whole force And gtjard it on an island off the coast, %Wle the Finnish authorities oourtmartialled the leaders. Apparently the agreeittent failed, as the legion has suddenly returned to Helslngfors, embar■nwing the Government. The situation is one demanding delicate handling.— !Auß, N.Z. Cable Assoc.
