REBUILDING A CITY. By Telegraph.—Press As3n.—Copyricht. Melbourne, Sept. 10. The local agents of the Vulcan Steel Company of New York hive been advised that the company have contracted to rebuild the city of Nancy at a cost of fifty million sterling PROFITEERING OX BOOTS. Melbourne, Sept. 10. The Profiteering Commission are inquiring into the price of hoots. The evidence tendered showed that the profits ranged from 27 to 50 per cent., the latter for men's boots. FARMERS' CONFERENCE. Melbourne," Sept. 17. The conference of farmers adopted a resolution favoring co-operation, and opposing the Government control of the dairying industry.—Aus. N.Z.
