OPUNAKE. Tho annual general meeting of the Opunake Bowling Club was held on Friday, The president, Mr. J. Keaver, presided. The balance-sheet showed receipts £63 Os lOd, expenditure £T)B lis lid, leaving a credit balance 011 the year's working of £4 8s lOd. Asset* were shown to be £263 in «vcesj of liabilities. It was unanimously decided to support the Taranaki Bowling Centre in their efforts to secure a universal Saturday half-holiday. The following new members were elected: Messrs. \V. Wlnstanley, R. Baker, R, Morris, A J. Brennan, P. Carter, E. ft. Baylis, T. S. Hickoy, W. Robertson, S. Campbell, E. Vincent, .T. Nicholls, H. Holmes, P. Julian, Dr. Watt, Rev. Palmer, Rev, Mill, and Rev. Doolaghty. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr. J. Fearer; vice-presidents, Messrs. C. Sorrenson, J. MeFle, and E. L. Thorpe; general committee, Messrs. 12. Calliighan, T. J, Mildenhall, E. L. Thorpe, J. Jud» son, and T. H. Sinclair; selector and green warden, Mr. J. P. Burton; match committee, Messrs. E. L. Thorpe and 0. Hammond; secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. P. Burton. A long dlscuaslon took place on the question of liquor refreshments being served on the green, a motion that no liquor ho supplied by the club on match days being negatived,-^ 1 But.
