HIGH SCHOOL OLD BOYS.

WAR MEMORIAL PROPOSALS. The question of providing a memorial to the old boys of the \ew Plymouth High School who lost their lives in the war. lias been under the consideration of the executive committee of the Old Bovs' Association for soipe time past, and plans for propssed alternative schemes were brought before a meeting of the committee on Monday uight. One proposal is that a school chapel should be erected, and the cost is estimated at £3700; the other is to provide entrance gates and overhead library at thf school, and the estimated cost is £2OOO. Jt is felt that old boys of the school and parents of old boys and also the pupils will desire to subscribe liberally for the provision of a fitting memorial, The two proposals outlined are to be submitted to the annual meeting of. the Old Boys' Association, which is to lie held at the school on the evening of October 3. It is hoped that a scheme will be decided upon and suilicient funds obtained early enough to enable a commencement of the work of erection to be made near the beginning of next year. The memorial should then be completed in time to allow of the annual reunion of Old Boys being fitted in with its unveiling.
