Mr Sly, who 1 has made a large number of frieuds during his sojourn in the district, Js on the directorate of the local dairy company, and a regular supplier to the local factory, and his departure from Wai-toi-toi will be regretted, more especially as indifferent health has necessitated his retiring from active farming for some time. Mr Musker, who is a member of the Clifton County Council, is well known In the district, and his residence amongst us will prove u valuable acquisition to the neighborhood. it is also reported that Mr Sid Sutton, who recently disposed of his farm at Omata, has purchased Mr F. Biundell's farm at the Mlml. As anticipated, there was a large attendance of buyers from all parts of the district at Mr U. Greig's dispersal sale at White Cliffs, Pukearube, on Thursday last. Mr Carey, who Is one of the purchasers of the property, has already commenced dairying and has some thirty cows in milk. During the week another of the new settlers, Mr Purdle, had a house removed from Waitara on to his portion of the estate by Mr E. A most successful euchre party was held in the Urenui Town Hali on Thursday evening last in aid of the funds of the district memorial fund, and after a very enjoyable aerWs of games, tho lady's prize was won by Miss Honeyfleld; and the gentleman's by Mr Colman.
