The shops were besieged, and the stocks of biscuits were rapidly exhausted. A mass meeting of operatives rejected the proposals made at yesterday's conference. It was resolved to remove the restrictions regarding the employment of enemy aliens. A further compulsory conference is sitting. ' THE QUEENSLAND PREMIER.
