WANGANUI DREDGE ARRIVES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. On Saturday afternoon the new dredge Raione arrived. The dredge is of the most modern type and specially adapted for local harbor requirements. She will be employed in making a deep-sea harbor at Castlecliff and in deepening the river channel to the town. The chairman of the Harbor Board estimates that within a month there will be another foot of water in the river channel, which will enable ships that now unload at Castlecliff to come to the town wharf. Work will be continued until the maximum depth is obtained. The Kaione is a trailing suction dredge of the stern wheel type, with a capacity of 600 cubic ;*ards, and capable of dredging to a depth of forty feet. Harbor works are to Jje pushed on rapidly, for the board is now in a strong financial position, having just raised a loan of £160,000. A LOCOMOTIVE ORDER. Thames, Saturday. A. and G. Price, Ltd., have secured a Government contract for twenty express A.B. class locomotives. This means thtee to four years' work, providing employment for a considerable number] of extra hands. '
