PLUNKET SOCIETY.
MEETING OK COMMITTEE. At the last meeting of the committee of the New Plymouth branch of the Plunket Society, Mrs. C. H. Burgess occupied the chair.
In consequence of her having resigned office, Mrs. Burgess handed over the presidency of the society to Mrs. W. Weston, and, in deference to the request of the committee, Mrs. Burgess accepted the position of patron of the society. Mrs. Weston consented to continue in the • office of treasurer till the end oi the financial year. The nurse's report for the month ending August 31 was read as follows.—New eases 2; babies oil list 20; babies under care, including new cases, 112; mothers preparing milk in homes 74: mothers taught how to make milk 2; visitors to rooms, mothers and babies, 290; visits to homes 231. The committee agreed to the request of the Plunket Society, Inglewood, that Nnurse Williams should judge at the baby show on Thursday next. - It was resolved that'the nurse should not attend the Plunket Rooms on Saturday mornings, so as to enable her to visit homes in the mornings. It was resolved that the secretary write a letter of condolence to the Central Council owing to the loss they had sustained by the death of Mrs. Carr, their late president. t Subscriptions were received from the following: Miss P.
