Mr. Massey announced that Me«n P. Maxwell, J, Marchbanks, and W. ft Hunt had accepted tho position at CQnvi missioners to inquire into the reowV management of the railways. The order of reference will be laid before the House, and the commission be-asked to; report during the session.
EPIDEMIC AND OTHER HBTORKft - The House agreed to the foUtfWing returns being laid on the table of the. House: Return showing the cost of the recent epidemic in the four centres of the Dominion, each centre to be shown separately; a return showing the amount paid by the Government to private institutions during the recent epidemic, the names of euch institutions, mad the amounts paid. A return showing the number of cases heard by the Railway Appeal Board since that body wjm constituted, the number of cases decided in favor of the management, the number of cases in which the board upheld the appeals of employees, the number of times the Minister's veto had been exercised in with the decisions of the Appeal' Board, and the number of times the Minister's veto hag been exercised during the period when Mr. Hiley was general manager.
