TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
SPECIAL MEETING. The Land Board held a special meeting on the 10th Inst. Present: Messrs. G. H. Billiard (chairman), J. Hlslop, N. R. Cleland, and J. W. H. Martin. An apology for nonattendance was received from Mr. Ryan. It. H. McCoy applied for section 5, block VIII., Omona. —Approved. Messrs. Demrscy and .1. Blnlr-Mason applied for portions of old closed road known ss Nobs' Lino —Resolved that the adjoining holders he asked to tender a price, the Board reserving the right to decline any tender. A. E. Lttehwark applied to acqulte part seclion 14, block x, Mapara.—Recommended for approval at a price to be fixed by the ranger. W. C. Irvine applied to acquire freehold of •ectlon C. block IX, Tangltu.—Approved. The following applications to transfer were spproved: Sections 4 and 5, block V., Kaupokonul from Opunake Sawmilllng Co. (In liquidation) to H. Brown: section 18, block VIL, Cape Estato of H. W. Saxton to Thos. Bransgrovo; •ectlon 22, block XV.. Ngatimaru, C. Skltrop rto W. E. Clegg; section 37, block XIII., section 38, block XIV., section 3, block XIV., PouatU Survey District, T. Joyce to H. S. Klrton; Boctlon 8, Oakura Town Belt, B. 0. Meredith to Jacob Smith; part, section 184, t'atea District, G. Castle to A. W. Beamish. The lessee of section 2, block XV., Mahoe, Is to be advised if improvements not commenced within six months ti.o Board will forfeit. In connection with discharged soldiers, 5 applications for houses, 7 for rural lands, 4 for stock, and 1 to discharge mortgages were received and dealt with according to the circumstances of each case.
