.THIRD WAVE PASSED. By Telenniph.—Press Assn.— Copyrlslit. Melbourne, Sept. 0. It is officially announced tliat the third wave of the influenza epidemic, just completed, is considered the last of the series, and, except in mild form, it is thought there is no chance of a recrudescence. LAST WEEK'S CASES. Wellington, last Niglit. The influenza cases reported in the Wellington Health District during the week ended September 8 numbered 22, of which 17 were mild, one moderate, and four severe. There were also two cases of lethargic encephalitis, two of cerebro spinal meningitis, and 30 of diphtheria.
