A race for tanks over the Alps has been organised by France to test the practicability of tractioning the mountain routes A railway accident occurred at St. Jory, near Toulouse. The poorness of the coal caused the train to lose time and finally to stop. The, Bordeaux express, travelling at fifty miles an hour, crashed into the rear of the train, wrecking several carriages. Eighteen were killed and forty-three injured. The music hall managers, locked out their employees.
