REVISED ESTIMATES. ONLY THE BEST TO BE RETAINED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Sept. 3. It is reported that Mr. Long will shortly submit to the Cabinet revised navy estimates, reducing the present expenditure of 140 millions to 70 millions, equivalent to 34 millions before the war. There will be fewer ships than before the war, but all the fighting ships will be of the latest class. Thirty-six vessels building will be completed, but the construction »f 42 will be stopped or cancelled.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
