Baron Gotto, in an article in the Pall Mall Gazette, pleads for a. closer AngloJapanese understanding. He urges British journalists to visit Japan more frequently and studv the real conditions He' touches significantly on trade competition, and says the day has arrived when Japan and Britain can compete fairly and like friends playing chess. The competition must aim at the fair and equal distribution of wealth. He argues that as Japanese settlers benefit California it is needless for America to urge their repatriation. ■ ft ' '
