UNUSUAL OCCURRENCE AT WANQANUI. By Telegraph.—Pres? Association. Wanganui, Sept. 2. An unusual occurrence, the first of its kind in Wanganui, took place at the Supreme Court to-day, when a "tales" was called during the empanelling of the jury for the trial of the last criminal case of the session. The number of available jurymen was very small, and challenges made by counsel and accused exhausted the list before the requisite jurymen were obtained. There were a number of bystanders in the court, and his Honor ordered the doors of the courtroom to be closed.
