NAVAL POLICIES.
LORD JELLICOE INTERVIEWED. By Telegraph.—-Press Association. Ohristchurch, Last Night. "Can you say," a reporter asked Lord Jellicoe to-night, '.'what truth there is in the forecasts of your report on naval matters to the Australian Government, which appeared in he cables this morning?"
"All I can say," replied Lord Jellicoe, "is that the report as given in the cable message te quite incorrect. May i suggest before any assumptions aro made on the subject of the report that those desiring to do bq should wait until the report is made public, if so ever made public." Asked regarding the progress being made in respect to the report being prepared for the New* Zealand Government on naval matters, 1 Lord 'Jellicoe replied: "I am trying to work on it in the intervals of hospitality, and I managed to get a fairly good day at it yesterday." Reference was made by the reporter to the cabled summary of Lord Fisher's letter to the Times, and Lord Jellicoe was asked if he would care to make any comment upon it. "What do you think Lord Fisher means?" Lord Jellicoe asked in turn. "Well," Baid the reporter, *'jt looks as if he has gone over to the Pacificists." The Admiral thought otherwise, and was of opinion that under* lying Lord Fisher's statements regarding the wrapping of the existing British navy was the idea that a biggefc-and more modern navy should be built, flowever, Lord Jellicoe pointed out i* was difficult to comment on a cable summary of Lord Fisher's letter, and preferred not to go further into the subject.
