IMPORTANT TUNNEL. CONNECTING JAPAN WITH THE MAINLAND. Br Telegraph.—Proas Asm.—Comrlght. Received Sept. 3, 2.40 p.m. Tokio, Sept. 1. It is announced that the Imperial Bailways Department will construct a submarine tunnel under the Shimonosoki Strait at an estimated cost of twenty million yen. The work will take ten years.—Am. N.Z.
