Wellington, Last Night' The urgency of the housing proWem in the Dominion was emphasised at a public meeting held in the Town Hall to-night, under the auspices of the W«l----lington Labor Representation Commit* tee. On the motion of Mr. P. Prater, M.P., the following was carried unanimously:, "This meeting of Welltnfton citizens calls upon the Government fo immediately address itself to the problem of the housing of the peopio of the Dominion. It affirms that the general housing conditions in Wellington and many other portions of the country art a standing disgrace and a'reproach to the government* of tho lait decade. In view of the fact that the Liberal leader, Btr Joseph Ward, has ttated that booms can be provided at 10s Od a weak, and that £4,000,000 should be taftd for the purpose, this meeting consider* a .comprehensive Dominion housing toneine should be embarked upon without delay. "It also asks in tbV-meantime, wtll sufficient home* are provided to meet the requirements of the population, that section 13 sub-section 1 of the War Legislation and Statute Amendment Act of IAIB, which prevents ejection of soldier, discharged soldier, or wife or widow of soldier or discharged soldier, should apply to all householders.".'
