WEDDING.
„ A very pretty wedding was celebrated on 'Wednesday, August 20, at the Catholic Church, Opunake, by the Rev. father Doolaghty, when Mr. John Colombus Barrett, third son of the late Timothy Barrett and Mrs. Barrett, of Pungarehu, was married to Miss Margaret Allette Cross, sixth daughter of the late AUbrey Cross and Mrs. Cross, of Opua Road, Opunjike. The bride, who was given away by I her brother-in-law, Mr B. A, Hammond, looked lovely in a dress of white crepe-de-chine, with pearl trimmings and panniers of white georgette, veil and orange blossoms, and carried a beautiful white shower bouquet. Miss Bella Bremner, of Te Klrl, attended as bridesmaid and looked very sweet In a pretty pink voile dress; black crepe-de-chine hat, with pink roses, pink stockings and black shoes, and pretty pink and white shower bouquet, and wore a gold brooch set with pearls the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. T. Barrett, brother of the brlto- i groom, filled tho role of best man. After the ceremony, the guests gathered at th& resi-, dence of the bride's where, ft dainty' breakfast was partaken of, the usual toasts being proposed and responded to. The bride-1 groom's present to the bride was a beautiful I net of furs, and the bride's present to the groom a gold albert, The happy couple, who received a number of beautiful presents, including a number of cheques, left by motor car in the afternoon for New Plymouth, en route for Auckland, Tauranga, and Xotorua to tbtlr twii tjgtOft*
