FIRES.

A HOUSE DESTROYED. } By Telegraph.—Prese Association. Wellington, Last Night. A nine-roomed dwelling housa on the main road between Waikariae and Paraparaumu, owned by Mr. \V. H. Field, M.P., was destroyed by fire on Sunday morning. No fire had been lit in the house since the previous Wednesday, and the .outbreak is believed to have been the work of an incendiary. The oecu* pant (Charlies Foaje), who was about to remove to another house, lost a quan* tity of furniture, which was uninsured. The house waa insured in the Phoenix Office for £4OO, but was worth lully £IOOO more. The police are investigating.
