Dunedin, Yesterday, The selectors have picked the following team to represent the South Island In the match against the North Island, to he played a Wellington:— Pull-back.—Brosnalran (Canterbury). Three-ouarters—Steele (West Coast), Jrakereth (Otago), Valentine (Otago). Five-eighths. McCormack (Canterbury), Byrne (Nelson). Half-back.—Begg (Otagn). Forwards.—Bain (Otago), Ellis (Canterbury), Peterson (Canterbury), Budd (Southland), Campbell (Otago), Fisher (Buller). Henry ;Marloorough). Wing forward—Scott (South e&ntorlmry).
TAIUNAKI v. WELLINGTON. ' The following team has been selected to represent Taranakl against Wellington at Welling, ton on Saturday, September o:—Oliver, Coutts, McKennn, Klveil, Hlckey, McEwart, Atkjns, Talt, Burke, Norgate, Masters, McCook, Sbfie, King, Carlson, and Spratt. TARANAKI RUGBY UNIION. MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Taranakl Rugby Union was hold at Stratford last night, when there were present: Messrs. Jas. McLood (chairman), K. B Fearon, R. 0. Harkncss, A. Lees, .1. Garcia, It. Masters (treasurer), and R R. Tyrer (secretary). A protest by Midhirst against Clifton on the grounds of playing McKoy, senior, was dismissed, as McKoy had not played more than twice as a senior, and so was eligible to play as Junior. v
A protest by Normanby • second Juniors '.gainst Kaponga on the grounds of playing a man above that grade, was also dismissed, r.oth protest fees will be refunded.
THE WELLINGTON MATCH. Mr. R. G. Harkness was appointed manager o? the team to visit Wellington, leaving on Thursday. Messrs* Garcia and Beamish will also accompany the team. The car will leave New Plymouth at 7 a.m., Stratford 8 a.m., and Hawera 9 a.m. Players chosen will join at fhe respective points. The play-ott between the winners of the third Junior Saturday and Thursday competitions in the Northern Division will take place at Inglewood on Thursday, September 18th. The final with Kaponga will be arranged later. The final of the Schools competition In the Northern and Southern Division was left to Messrs, Fearon and Lyall to arrange.
FLAY OFFS. The play-off between Hawcra and Stratford milora for the championship of Taranaki was decided by toss, and will take place at Stratford on Saturday, September 131b Mr J. S. McKay will be referee. Clifton and Hawera juniors will play off at Stratford on Saturday. September Oth., the referee to be appointed by tho Northern Referees" Association.
AMENDED RULES. In connection with the conference, which is t; be held at Wellington to discuss the question of playing amended rules, it was resolved to call a meeting of delegates to flu various clubs to bo held In Stratford on Monday evening, September 15th.
