RACIAL RIOTS. MILITIA CALLED GUT. New York, Aug. 31. A message from Knoxville, Tennessee, states that sis persons were killed and' m/.ny wounded in riots between negroes and whites. The militia were called out. —Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
RACE BIOTS. BLACKS AND WHITES DISARMED. Received Sept 2, 12.50 a.m. New York, Sept. 1. At Knoxville; Tennessee, several whites and blacks were wounded on the second day of the race rioting. The military and police restored order and disarmed scores of blacks and whites.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
