(From Our Own Correspondent.)' Pept. I. The annual meeting of the AVhaflgamomona Tennis Club was held on Thursday last, when'there wsis a good attendance. The report and balance-sheet Fhowed the club to be in a very satisfactory position. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. Strombom (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs. Coxhead and Bovic (re-elected); honorary secretary, Mr. Marsh (re-elected); match • committee, Mrs. Strombom, Mr. Potter (captain of the Club), and Mr. Marsh; general committee, Mrs. Coxhead, Mrs. Strombom, Mr. Potter, Mr. l.iagg,.Mr. Boyis; ladies' committee, Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Riley, Mrs. Jenkinson, Mrs. Potter, Miss McCutchan. It was decided to bar children, under 10 from nlayin n - on the courts on the three afternoons during the week on which they fire used by adults, but it was agreed that they be admitted to membership on a subscription of 5s per annum, and be permitted to play on other days. The opening day was fixed for October 9th., and a social will be held in the evening in aid of the club funds. A large number of new members were elected. Miss Dean, of Whangamomona, was entertained at a kitchen tea by her friends last week. A number of useful jrfts were presented to Mr. Bottomley, on behalf of his bride-elect, and were suitably acknowledged. Supper was provided and altogether a very pleasing evening was spent. The vital statistics for Stratford for August are: Birtli3 12, deaths 2, marriages 5.
