DEVELOPMENT OF INDUSTRY IN GERMANY. Rome, August 29. The newspaper Seeolo learns from Berlin that Germany's aeroplane industry is developing rapidly and work in all the factories, is going at high pressure. The metal for aeroplanes being turned out at Johannistal is subjected to severe tests and has proved to be of great strength.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
TORONTO-NEW YORK CONTEST. Received Aug. 30 5.5 p.m. London, Aug. 29. Twenty-seven airmen finished in the Toronto-New York return air race Fifty-seven entered. Lieut Maynard completed 1040 miles in 507 minutes actual flying time. Eleven others have yet to complete the course.—Aus.-N.Z, Cable Assn. ,-
