ENTERTAINMENTS.
THE PEOPLE'S. "THE LAW OF THE NORTH." To-day's new bill presents Charles'' Bay, the Paramount / screen star, who usualy portrays scenes in an agricultural setting. In his latest photodrama, the "Law of the North," he becomes a Canadian trapper, fierce and wild as arc the passions of the primitive men who fight with nature and each other on the rim of the Arctic circle. Ho presents a story of sudden love, fierce hatred, and the savagery of the strong, and in all the phases of elemental life his characterisations are equal to the task. His father slain, his sister abducted by a' villain, he leads the fighting men of his trading post in battle against the enemy stockade.. There is terrible fciocity and death in the picture, but you will find too, that even an enraged man's nature can he stirred to softness at sight of a lost girl who has lain down to die amid the snow. The story is a whirl of rapid I action and primitive passions. Probably no more sensational story has ever been thrown on the screen. The matinee commences at 2 p.m.
