MEETING OP TABANAKJ. BXECOTIVK. A meeting of the executive committee of the Taranakl Bowline Centre waa held In tlw New Plymouth Bowling Club's pavilion jreat . y ' J - D - Sol 6 (President) In the cnalr. There were also present: Messrs. F. Spurdle, C. N. < Johnson, P. J. Hill, A. K. Smart, . W,. Lambie, i. W. McMillan, If. II Jackson, and A. t. Moore (secretary). A Jotter ww received from the Avon Club, Stratford, applying for affiliation to the cantre. Same was approved aubejct to rules being approved by the Dominion Bowling Association. A letter was received from' the Stratford Bowling Club with reference to a universal half-holiday.
After discussion it was resolved on the motion of Mr. McMillan, seconded by Mr. C; Johnstone (1) that the centre call a meeting of delegates of all sports bodies and local clubn In Taranakl, with a view to bringing about a universal Saturday half-holiday; (J) That the meeting be held at the CouneU Chambers, Stratford, on September 25, at 11 a.m. Considerable discussion ensued with reference to the constitution of and representation on the Council of the Dominion Bowling Association, and It was resolved on the niotlOQ of Mr. Smart, seconded by Mr. Sole (I) That this centre favors centralisation in Wellington with direct representation of each centre on the council; (2) and that the council appoint a tournament committee from tho centre in which the annual tournament is held to arrange same • (•i) that falllug this tho* constitution remain" „„** jfejent, but that a special meeting heJ called during the tournament week to ba hah!
