SUCCESSFUL ANTHRAX VACCINE. Received Aug. 29, 7.30 p.m. Sydney, Aug. 29. Following upon the free gift of the Gunn anthrax vaccine to the State, the Government biologist reports that exhaustive testa have proved it capable of giving the protection against anthrax claimed. It is stated that the vaccino keeps indefinitely and that one dose_ suffices. The chief inspector of stock reports that have proved it possible at any time to proparo a vaccine conferring immunity upon stock against anthrax.

THE ELLENGA'S TROOPS. Received Aug. 20, 10.35 p.m. Sydney,, Last Night. Throe hundred New Zealand troops from the Ellenga accepted the Government's invitation and visited Sydney today. They were officially welcomed. A further contingent of 700 arrives tomorrow and returns in time to catch the Ellenga, which is leaving on Monday.

AN APPEAL DISMISSED. Received Aug. 20, 10.35 p.m. Sydney, Last Night. A full Court dismissed Alexander Maguire's appeal agains the Union Steam Ship Company wherein Maguire applied for compensation for contracting pneumonia whilst working in an exposed condition.

THE SEAMEN'S CONFERENCE. Received Aug. 29. 10.35 p.m. Melbourne, Last Night. The seamen's conference sits on Monday. The wharf laborers are still idle. An early settlement is predicted.
