COURSING.
NEXT WEEK'S MEETING. A meeting of the committee of the Taranaki Coursing Club was held at the office of Mr. Nicolls last night, when full arrangements were completed for the forthcoming meeting, to be held on Thursday and Saturday of next weok, September 4 and 0, at Qlenavon, Smart Bond, New Plymouth. Prospects for a successful meeting are considered very good. There Is a plentiful supply of hares and already nominations have been received from Wangamil, Pnteu, Auro.i, and some of the coastal districts, as well as from many of the local enthusiastic followers of the sport. Nominations close with the actlrtg-secretary, Mr. F. Doughty, ot the Central Fire Brigade Station, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, September 3. The club has bean fortunate In securing the services of Mr. J. .Tenklnaon as judge, and his presence should encourage entries. Other officials were appointed as follows: Slipper, Mr. F. Doughty; slip "toward, Mr. Tom Kli'hnrds; call steward, Mr. A. Haskell: judge's steward, Mr. D. Scrivener; hare slipper, Mr. 8. Clark; hill steward, Mr. C. Haskell; gate keepers, Messrs. E. Armltsge and Revell.
