Tho proposal to acquire the stores of the Wellington Meat Export Company in Wellington, to be run as co-operative cool stores, has now attained fulfilment .(reports an exchange) and it has been decided to acquire the property, and also the lease of some sections adjoining. The proposal to form a company, to be known as "The Co-operative Dairy Producers' Freezing Company, Ltd.," was, with the exception of one company, unanimously endorsed by all the factories shipping their produce through the port of Wellington, and as an outcome of this unanimity the committee which had the matter in hand has now definitely closed with the offer. Shareholding companies in the new concern will contribute on a tonnage basis of one £5 share per ton of butter and per two tons of cheese, but it is not expected that any capital will need to be called up, as the profits from storage charges are expected to fully finance the scheme. The nominal capital of the new company will be £IOO,OOO, fully half of "which it is expected will be applied for directly.
