AUSTRALIAN SHIPPING STRIKE.
ATMOSPHERE NOT YET CLEAR. DEADLOCK AT NEWCASTLE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. Sydney, Aug! 27. Trouble has been experienced in securing a crew for the Prinzossin, the master refusing to sign on six men who left the vessel in sympathy with the Seamen's Union, which he considers a breach of the ternia of their engagement. A deadlock has occurred at Newcastle, the owners refusing to go to the Trades Hall to engage labor, and the men declining to apply at the offices. The result is that all vessels there are still idle. Melbourne, Aug. 27. The wharf laborers decided not to work with the loyalists, and not to handle cargo until the labor bureau has been closed.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc. SEAMEN COMPROMISE.
