The Wharf Labourers' Union has issued a writ against the Age calming £IO,OOO for alleged libel in connection with yesterday's meeting. Mr. Tudor has issued a similar writ against the Age. THE RYAN LIBEL CASE. Received Aug. 27, 9.30 p.m. Sydney, Aug. 27. The High Court refused defendant's application for a verdict in the Ryan libel case, and granted plaintiff a new trial. A CYCLONIC DISTURBANCE. Received Aug. 27, 9.30 p.m. Sydney, Aug. 27. A cyclonio disturbance prevails in the south-east, accompanied by a rough sea and heavy rain. SUBSTANTIAL REWARD OFFERED. Sydney, Aug. 27. The management of the South Mine at Broken Hill has offered a reward of £2OOO for information which may lead to the conviction of the persons who caused the fire on July 30.—Aus.
