STRATFORD.

The report to be presented to the Minimi meeting of the Stratford Kacing Club states that the club could not avoid incurring an annual deficit on the wholo of its financial operations during each year the restrictions on the number of days of races were in force. The deficit amounted to £172 4s 4d in IHIS, and to £295 12s 2d during the past year The larger amount in the latter period is almost wholly accounted for by the increased cost of track maintenance, namely, £487 5s Gd in 1911) and £375 15s lOd in 191 S. While it had cost just as much to maintain the club's property and administer its affairs as formerly the revenue had practically been cut in half. The Stratford Mountain House Committee have made a canvass with a view to ascertaining what support could be obtained for a proposal to float a limited liability company for the purpose of erecting a mountain house, provided the lease of a suitable site, with, access thereto, could be obtained.
