TRANS-PACIFIC FLIGHT. By Telegraph.—Press Asim.— Copyright. Vancouver, Aug. 22. Mr. Thomas Ince has offered a prize of 10,000 dollars for a trans-Pacific aeroplane fiight from California to cither Australia, Japan, China, or the Philippines, to be completed within twelve days. A prize of 2000 dollars goes to the first machine to reach. iiawaii.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc. LONDON-PARIS AIR SERVICE. London, Aug. 22, Tfandley Page is opening a daily service between London and Paris on Monday. Each machine will carry ten passengers and the fare will be 15 guineas. Aires aeroplanes are establishing a daily goods service. The freight rates are 7s 8d per lb to Paris. The Goliath machine, cabled on the Kith as missing, has been found near Dakar with a broken propeller. The crew are safe. Britain and America are requesting permission to establish an aeroplane landing ground and also an observatory at Teneriffe—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc."
