Received Aug. 22, 11-18 p.m. Washington, Aug. 21. < Senator McCormick, in a speech in the Sfnate, denounced British policy in Persia. Britain and France, he said, were two Imperialistic powers. Everywhere in Asia thero was rebellion and sedition, but under the League of Nations America's soldiers must suppress those movements towards freedom. Received Aug. 22, 11.15 p.m. New York, Aug. 21. A crowd at Louisburg, north Carolina, lynched a negro named Elliott, who is alleged to have assaulted a farmer's wife. The Mexican Ambassador has been ordered to protest against American troops being in Mexico and to demand their withdrawal.
