COURSING.
A meeting of the New Plymouth Plum;..-m Coursing Club was held on Wednesday evening;, Mr. A. Haskell presiding. It was decided to run a ?0-dog stage at fllenavon, Smart Road, on Thursday. September 4, and a supplementary stake on Saturday, September C. Very valuable prizes are to lie competed for. The first prize for jßie Taranakl Stakes is £27 and a trophy (donated by Mr. T. Richards, Imperial Hotel), second £lO and trophy (donated by Mr. Plumtroe), and third £5 Mr Jeffreys Is also donating a trophy for the dug scoring most points in any single course The nominations and acceptances close on September 3 Mr. P. Doughty was appoinled secretary pro tem.
