It is understood that (he Dardanelles CCommissiou finds the evacuation justified, and ww surprised at the Government's delay.—Times Service. Received Aug. 20, 11.35 p.m. London, Aug. 20. It is understood tho Oallipoli report considered the difficulties of the operations were underrated at the outset. There was a delay of six weeks in reinforcing the troops in accordance with General Hamilton's estimates, at lor the failure of the first nt tacks. The delay was largely due to domestic political crises. Thero is much criticism, of tli." Suvla and Anzae attack in August, 1915, also of faulty leadership on the spot. Some of the commanders are censured, especially those at Suvla, the decision to evacuate which was unduly delayed. The discussion as to evacuation lusted three months, and the method of reaching a decision was cumbrous. —Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
