Dairy cows and-heifers close to profit sold at from £l2 to £l9 ss, backward sorts £8 Ilia to £l4 10s, nged and inferior cows £5 to £8 5s Store cattle penned In less numbers than usual, and sold at late rates. Empty cows and heifers brought £G to £9 lis, best calves £2 12s 6d to £3 10s, others £1 Us to £8 7s 6d, yearling to 18-months steers £5 to £7 ss, yearling to 18-months heifers £4 10s to £0 Lis, bulls £(1 15s to £lO 10s. On Friday, at Pukekoho, best dairy cows sold at from 15 to £2B, others £9 to £l4 10s, need and Inferior cows £6 to £8 15s, best dairy heifers £l4 to £2O, others £8 10s to £l3 5s The registered pedigree Jersey cow Belle Cnmpnnltle realised 36% guineas. On Tuesday, at Pukekohe, we held our monthly sale: Grown steers In forward condition brought £l2 5s to £l4 12s, 3 to 3%-year old steers £lO 10s to £l2 12s Od. 2 to 3-vear old steers £7 17s 6d to £lO 7s 6d, yearling to 18-month steers £5 to £7 2s 8d; ditto heifers, £4 5s to £0 10s; heifer cnlves, best £2 15s to £4, others £1 10 to £2 10s; steer calves, best £3 to £4 7.9 (Id. others, £1 7s M to £2 15s; empty cows and heifers £5 10s in £9 2s Rd; bulls, £5 to £l3 10s, according to weight and quality. Beef In large numbers sold at lato rates: Steers to £lO, cows and heifers to £lO 2s Od.
At Westflcld fct stock market on Wednesday beef was penned In scarcely average numbers, with competition not so keen, and with prices slightly easier Choice ox sold to £3 4s per 1001b.; prlmo ox sold at from £ 2 18s to 2s per 1001b ; rough and Inferior ox, £2 10s to £2 16s per 1001b.; cow and heifer beer sold at from £2 12s to £2 17s per 1001b. No extra, heavy cattle were yarded. Steers sold at from £l6 to £24 7s fid: cows and heifers sold at from £0 10s to £l6 ss. Calves were ponend again in large numbers. Runners were easier; other fat calves at late values. Runners, £5 10s to £8 lis; heavy vealers, £4 to £5 10s; medium vealers, £3 to £4, light £2 to £2 18s <ld; lighter fat cnlves, 15s to £ 1 15s; fresh-dropped, 7s to 14s; good fat 2-month calves aro wanted. Pigs were penned in smaller numbers, with prices slightly under last week's extreme prices. Choppers and heavy baconers, £8 to £9 4s; medium to heavy baconers, £5 to £6 ss; heavy porkers, £4 5s to £4 18s; medium, £3 10s to £4 4s; light, £3 to £3 9s. No weaner3 or store pigs penned.
