GEORGESON'S WHEAT DEAL. By Telecrnph.—Press As'sa.—Copytlsht. Received August 1!), 1.45 a.m. Sydney, August 18. The Wheat Commission report finds no evidencfi of secret understanding with Oeorgeson to receive favored treatment J?our shilling* and four pence balf-perwv was a fair price under the circumstances. The absence of a deposit or security was a grave mistake, and indicated want of proper caution. There was no reason to doubt Georgeson's good faith, but the State's risk is not yet over. A monopoly of the eastern trade seems fair to the purchaser of such a large quantity of wheut.—Aus.-N.Z- Cable Assn.
