Fratel, the Eurasian, accused or maltreating his fellow British troops captured by the Turks in Mesopotamia, gavo evidence to the effect that lie was not responsible for the hospital system in Hagtsehe, which wag under Turkish control. Germar.j and Turks twice beat him for showing kindness to the British, and threatened to make him a railway navvy if he quitted the hospital in order to attend to the British. He worked fourteen hours daily, though suffering from fever, and had no control of the mortuary.—Aus.-N.Z, Cable Assn.
