The, Roumanians are masters of the situation, and apparently intend to yield the command to nobody.—Aus.-N Z. Cable Assn. ROUMANIANS MORE REASONABLE. Paris, Aug. 12. It is understood that the Roumanians are ready to meet the representatives of the Allie9 in Hungary.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc. BOLSHEVIST MALTREATMENT. Budapest, Aug. 11. Sensational stories o'f the maltreatment of the bourgeoisie show that torture chambers were fitted up in vaults under the parliamentary buildings. The favorite method was to show victims dismembered parts of a body, such as arms, legs, noses, and eyes, and offering them a chance of saving their lives if they confessed or paid large sums. The corpses of murdered persons were collected at night and thrown into the Danube heavily weighted. Some of the torturers have been arrested and confessed; one was found in possession of d number of blank execution warrants for political suspects.—Renter.
