' Wellington, Lost MIAV ' The Minister /of Public Health hat *•» ecived a cable from South Africa nutief that during the .week ended August K there were 2508 'cases of influenza and WO deaths. . It wan stated also thkt there had been 14 deathi from smallpox and 20 from typhus, the latter liekattt Veing in inland districts. The Minister said , t4tffay that the acting-chief health nstructed to take the matter in hand, and a careful watch would be kept agaittt the importation of infection ofibwe & eases to this country.
