FARMERS' MEAT COMPANY.
To the Editor. Sir,—ln your issue of Ausust 11th, you have a report of the annual meeting of the Taranaki Meat Company, at' which It is stated that Mr J. T. (juln had made a request for townspeople to take up shares. Sir W. A. MeCutclian is also reported to have said that the men who vrould not .support the company were no better than tho men who sold tho secrets of their country to mi enemy. Doth were traitors. Jt. has also been stated that the company is a farmers' concern, and by advertisement the directors have requested all farmers to take up shares. Could you please inform me in the face of these statements why the directors have refused to allot less than ten shares (£SO worth) in the present Issue to any applicant?—l am, etc., J. T. GOODRICH.
