The above steamer arrived here yesterday morning from Waltarn, where she has been engaged in the task of towing the stranded Arapawo. Tho Shaw, Savill steamer Maliia yesterday completed her New Zealand loading, lifting 0800 quarters of beef at Whangarei. Sixty overseas passengers joined the vessel, which sailed for Port Said direct. . PATEENA IN COLLISION. ! Auckland, August 12. The Pnteena dropped anchor. when berththlg at Onehunga, but apparently the anchor failed to hold, owing to the strong flood tide, and the steamer hit the corner of the wharf, lifted bodily three heavy piles, hound together with Iron hoops, out of the water and wrecked the stringers and wharf docking in the vicinity. Tho Pateeun waß considerably damaged, an iron plate on the starboard side was ripped about fifteen feet In length as if cut with a knlfo and Iron Btaunchions were buckled or broken. The Pateena's departure for Wellington wa3 delayed for temporary repairs.
