COUNTY LOAN PROPOSALS.

TO-DAY'S POLL. Mr. J. >S. Connett, chairman of the Taranaki County Council, addressed a meeting of about thirty settlers at Omata last night relative to the loan proposals for tar-sealing the main roads, the poll on whieh takes place to-day. Mr. S. Vickers presided, and the proposals were favorably received. At the close of Mr. Connett's speech the following motion was carried: "That in the opinion of this meeting it is in the best interests of the district that the loan proposals should lie carried." A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr, Connett. Ratepayers will be well-advised to take part in to-day's poll. The resolution passed at Omata fittingly voices the feeling that should exist throughout all the ridings affected by the proposals.
