DEPUTATION TO MR. CRAIGIE, By Telegraph.—Press Association. Timaru, Last Night. A representative deputation waited on Mr. Craigie, M.P., whose retirement was rumored, with a request that ho should ftllow himself to be nominated for the next election. The speakers eulogised liis great services and the necessity for experienced men in the next Parliament to solve tho great problems. Mr. Craigie spoke of the valuable work (lone by the National Government, although it might have made mistakes. Regarding the future, he said the Dominion's weal was of greater importance thnn Parliamentary consideration. lie promised to consider the request and give a reply later, assuring those present that- if he consented he would be found with the progressive group.
