Leagues of consumer* are actively controlling prices in each district. They visit tho market and shops and compare the prices with those in the central markets, and warn shopkeepers, if overcharging, that unless they reduce prices they will report them to the police. Prices of food sometimes jail 40 per cent. Demobilised soldiers are also starting a co-operative buying association for food, clothing, and household requirements:—Aus. NZ. Cable Assos.
